I have a problem with this module's time zone. The counter does not follow UTC and for example after midnight in my time zone (GMT), the module does not change to a new day.
I contacted my host techs and they said:

As the issue is related to third party software, we cannot provide much support on the settings. The counter is configured to use the server time.

Please contact the Joomla support or your developers to change the code according to your requirement.

Hi oubernie,

the counter used the php date and time function ( e.g. date( format ) , time() ). Both using the php settings.

On the other site, date funtions from mysql is used ( e.g. DATEDIFF; CURDATE, DATE ) .

Thus, i think it is not possible to use another timezone for Counter-Time-Referenz as servertime. Is it anyway possible in Joomla ?

in this forum we speak about the "mod_vvisit_counter" ( VVisit_Counter ), it is NOT "Vinaora Visitors Counter"

i dont think so
vinaora visitors counter use GMT offset time from Global Configuration of Joomla
you can check that here

Hi,

vinaora's counter works completly different and is much more simpler.

I mainly let do the database computing the 'counts' ( exception week-count and little others ) :
e.g. SELECT COUNT(*) FROM .... WHERE ...tm BETWEEN UNIX_TIMESTAMP(DATE(NOW())) AND UNIX_TIMESTAMP(DATE(NOW()) + INTERVAL 1 DAY)

Vinaora makes the counting on joomlas session (i think) and store only an 'ADD' in database
( cause a leak with many day's: ).

Of course, it can be possible (i think) to set the "BETWEEN Values" in the SQL with php (and/or store the tm's in GMT), but it is not so easy for all cases.
My counter have much more features and for all of this i must find a way to do that.
( a simple example is the 'Start if Week', Vinaora can only Sunday/Monday.. my counter can also Saturday. It seems simple, but it is not.
Others are the filter feature, the timeout feature and and and... )

For now i can not say whether i have enought time for that changes.

PS.: have you testet vinaoras GMT calculation ?.. it seem's JDate is not allways used.
